Ein Kind aus unserer Gruppe mit Down-Syndrom namens Bramwel sollte von Sammy und ihrer Mannschaft adoptiert werden. Seine Eltern leben noch – leben in einem Lehmdorf. Da so eine Adoption auch hier schriftlich festgehalten muss, mussten wir uns mit Bramwels Mutter bei der Polizei treffen. Zuerst ging es also mit dem Auto in Richtung Lehmdorf. Als der Wagen am Straßenrand geparkt war, liefen wir einige Minuten glitschige Trampelpfade entlang. Viele Kinder sind uns gefolgt, trauten sich aber nicht so richtig näher zu kommen. Irgendwann erreichten wir ein Lehmhaus und sollten drinnen Platz nehmen. Ein kleiner Tisch und paar Stühle nahmen schon mehr als die Hälfte des Hauses ein. Im hinteren Teil standen Säcke, in denen sich Nahrung befand. Auf dem Boden krabbelten unzählige Ameisen. Die Wände waren komplett aus Lehm, als Dach diente ein Wellblech. Bramwel sagte sofort: „Hier will ich nicht bleiben!“ Musste er auch gar nicht. Denn als seine Mutter kam (eine freudige Begrüßung blieb aus) ging es schon wieder zurück in Richtung Auto. Da kam der „double-glitschi-Effekt“ auf: die Flip-Flops rutschten auf dem Schlamm, die Füße in den Flip-Flops. Innerhalb weniger Minuten waren wir bei der Polizei, es wurde kurz gesprochen, dann hat der Polizist etwas aufgeschrieben und unterschrieben und schon war das Thema gegessen. Der Raum war nur mit dem nötigsten ausgestattet: Ein Schreibtisch, paar Stühle, ein Regal mit zerfledderten Akten und paar Postern an der Wand. Kein Computer, kein Telefon. Und keine Polizeiautos. Auch keine Uniform. Die Verabschiedung verlief schnell, wobei ich glaube, dass es der Mutter schwer fiel. Mir tat sie jedenfalls unendlich leid! Aber sie weiß mit Sicherheit, dass es ihrem Sohn bei Sammy um einiges besser geht, als bei ihr, in einer Lehmhütte.
Unsere nächste Station war die Schule, die wir am zweiten Tag besichtigt hatten. Ab heute sind Sommerferien und Sammy hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, einige der Kinder nach Hause zu fahren. Also fuhren wir sechs Kinder nach Hause. Das siebte hat wahrscheinlich keins mehr und wohnt deshalb – zumindest für heute und die nächsten Tage – bei uns. Seine Mutter ist nicht mehr auf ihrem Handy erreichbar und keiner weiß, wo sie wohnt. Der kleine Frankol ist vielleicht gerade einmal vier Jahre alt.
